By definition motivation is the driving force that inspires people, and it is the spur that gives us the incentive and reason to do the things we do. Everyone has different driving forces that move them forward. Sometimes the challenges that we face and the experiences that we move through in life are the very things that keep giving us a reason to continue.
From a personal perspective there have been many challenges throughout my life. And over time the events that occurred become a blur of the imagination. However, the lessons that I have learned are things that stay with me throughout a longer duration.
One of the hardest and most recent lessons I have learned is the value of life balance in its true sense. After being hit by a car in 2006 I learned that the body is a tool that can only endure abuse for so long. It is a vessel that carries us through life. It needs food, rest, nurturing and time to regenerate. Before my car accident, I was working three jobs and only had time to eat, and barely enough time to sleep. And I almost had no time for a social life. Now since my accident, I have a more balanced life and make time to have fun and enjoy time alone and with those who I care about!
